Ever have that feeling where you become breathless just by the sight of someone? I never understood that feeling of having someone literally "take your breath away" until last year. And time and time again, I'm amazed by how I still have that sensation when I look at my "hunnybuns." My chest tightens up, my stomach goes into knots, and I can't breathe. Is this what people call "love at first sight?" I thought this only happened to men. I've never heard of any women describe this. I'm sure I'm not the first, but it's so uncanny how just the mere thought of him makes my heart pound and catch my breath.
Today, I was working on my laptop from across the room, and looked up to see hunnybuns on the couch, reading his nerd book - some journal on networking technology (BOOOORing). And I found myself staring at him for 5 minutes straight, studying his face. Every wrinkle around his eyes, the way his ears perk up when he laughs, the way he's paranoid about how his hair looks, the way his nose scrunches up when he's concentrating on something. And every few seconds, I couldn't breathe. And at the same time, there was that sense of calmness that I've never felt with anyone in my life. Is this what's called happiness in love?
Hunnybuns has been great lately. I guess his distance was just a phase and had a lot to do with stress from work. He's "manly" that way. HA HA. He likes to keep his work pretty private and not share too much when he's struggling. I guess it's a pride thing. I don't care either way. I can make money for the both of us, but I don't think he would like that. Now that he is busier with work and it seems to be going well, he has been in a great mood. Very affectionate, bringing home flowers, buying me chocolate (yum!), and just spending quality time together. I think we may go on a long overdue surf trip down the coast at the end of the month. Just the 2 of us. Yey. :)
