Jut another bike ride...

Tuesday, July 24, 2012

I got up early in the morning to get a ride in before the heat. It was actually pretty refreshing to get out so early before all the cars got on the road.  Another gorgeous day here in socal.

So R says to me while we're out riding,
"so... what are you wearing?"
"Huh? I'm wearing my bike shirt and shorts?" I reply.
"No! You're not supposed to say that! You're supposed to say 'i am wearing a black form fitting knee length dress with black strappy stilletto heels!' " he retorts.
"Oh. Woops. Wait, but how can i be wearing that while i'm pedaling?" I replied.
"Give me some imagery to go on for later, woman!"

Am I slow or what?

Afternoon Surprise

Thursday, July 19, 2012

Look what I got this afternoon! A surprise visit from hunnybuns with a treat! 2 treats actually.  I was having a hard long day at work today and about 3 o'clock, in pops R into my office. Awww.... I garfed up the brownie and the chocolate croissant in about 5 minutes. Felt 100 times better after my treats!

Hello gorgeous day!

Sunday, July 15, 2012

And...off we went on a gorgeous bike ride together this morning! R is usually the one that is up before me, but I was up first this morning from the warm weather.

Since I cannot cook worth didley, I made us 2 nice bowls of cereal. I guess its more like pour some shredded wheats into cereal bowls and pour some almond milk into them with some ground flax seed sprinkled over it. Some fruit would have been nice but I forgot to buy some :/  I figured we would have a full lunch after the ride anyway. I wanted to beat the heat so forced R out of bed to accompany me on the ride.

Roses, gardens, lavender field, horses, cows, green pasture, and nice bootie to follow were all part of the scenery from the ride.

After the ride, we decided that a picnic lunch in the shade was in order, so we picked up some lunch meat, wine, cheese, and bread, parked by the lake, and watched the boats float by. I read The Hunger Games with my head on his lap while he read his Popular Mechanics magazine on the grass. And then he said "I love you"

:D

Lobster Lovin'

Saturday, July 7, 2012

R and I decided to head out to Third Street Prominade for an evening of dinner and shopping. We walked on the boardwalk, browsed the shops, and went for a lobster dinner. The shopping was non-eventful but the dinner was awesome. The lobster was THE BEST lobster I'd ever had. Maybe I have just been deprived all these years. I've never been too crazy about lobster - I always found it to be too chewy. I preferred crab and squid over lobster any day. Until now. The cook actually killed and grilled the lobster right in front of us (gruesome, i know... sorry lobster). This grilled lobster was SooooOOoOo tender and yummy, R and I devoured the sea creature in about 5 minutes. I kid you not. Whatever it was - maybe the freshness or the grilling, it was the best lobster that I ever had.

Enough about lobster, we had to walk off all the food and ice cream we ate during dinner, so we took another stroll out to the beach after dinner. What is it about the beach that makes the mood so romantic?  Is it the waves? The moon? The dim lighting of the evening? We topped off the evening with a nightcap at home and some sweet lovin' in the bedroom...

Fireworks schmireworks

Wednesday, July 4, 2012

Honeybuns and I don't get too excited about the 4th of July fireworks. We see them every year, its nice, but I don't understand the big deal about it. Tons of people, camped outside to watch them. We would much rather have a nice evening alone. We decided to take a drive out to the coast since it was a warm night. I love these warm summer nights! (Southern California rocks!) We drove out to a lookout point and had a mini picnic with wine. No, I didn't cook. It was cheese and crackers with a very good bottle of red wine. We were able to see some of the fireworks at the city from where we were which was nice. But we both prefer the privacy over all the traffic, especially with another workday coming up. Happy 4th of July!
