Yesterday I was sick. Now, I don't mean sick like a cold or cough sick. But sick like dizziness, room spinning, wanting to throw up, hungry but too nauseous to eat sick. Sick like wanting to curl up under the blanket in a fetal position and thinking, "God help me" sick. Ever have that happen? That was me yesterday. I woke up feeling extremely nauseous, wanting to throw up, but hungry at the same time. It was bazaar. I was so nauseous, but so hungry at the same time. I didn't know what was happening. All I knew was that I just wanted to stay in bed, have Hunnybuns hold me and bring me soup between my trips to my hugging of the toilet while he held my hair back. I knew it wasn't food poisoning because I hadn't eaten anything weird. Plus I was hungry. Then in the afternoon while I was in the shower, it occurred to me - am I pregnant??!!! NOOO WAY! I mean, YESSS!! I mean, THAT WOULD BE SO AWESOME!! Then I thought about all the alcohol that I had drank over the past 3 months, all the seafood and other harmful foods that pregnant women aren't supposed to eat, etc.... So then I called Hunnybuns to the shower and asked,
"Hunny, do you think I could be pregnant?!?!!"
and he says, "NO way, REALLY??!!!"
"Well, I donno! I'm so sick right now and there's no other explanation. Do you think it could be?"
"Shoot! I donno, Babe, I'm not a WOMAN! I don't know what it feels like to be pregnant!
"Hun, can you go get a pregnancy test from the drug store?"
"Ok, I'm on it. I'll be back in 10 minutes!! No, I'll be back in 5! Just stay right there!" I saw a spark of excitement in his voice.
So when he zoomed right back, I did the pee test.
False alarm. Darn it! I guess it was a little relief, but I think we were both secretly hoping that it was true. But I know it is coming. SOON. You know how sometimes you just know that it's in your destiny with a certain person? I've even seen our first born child in his arms AND our family picture in my dreams. Strange, right? I know it will happen soon. Wow, I just got the butterflies just thinking about it! I can't wait! It's funny how a woman can see her unborn child in her dreams before her child is even born (or even conceived). Life is just strange and beautiful that way.
